A surgical procedure that involves moving hair follicles from one area of the body (donor area) to another (recipient area), typically to address hair loss under local anesthesia.

*Hair transplant is a minor surgery.
*Hair transplant can be divided into 2 parts-

1) Hair will be taken out - Extraction, it is of two types - a) FUE method b) FUT method.

    a) FUE - Follicular Unit Extraction method.
    * A minimally invasive surgical procedure where individual hair follicles are extracted from a donor area (usually the back or sides of the scalp) and transplanted to areas with thinning or balding hair.
    * Individual hair follicles are extracted using a small, specialized punch tool, leaving behind tiny, circular scars that heal quickly.
    * The extracted follicles are carefully implanted into the recipient sites, ensuring proper angulation and direction for natural-looking hair growth.
    * FUE is considered a minimally invasive procedure with less scarring compared to FUT.
    * The recovery period is generally shorter than other hair transplant techniques, allowing patients to return to work and daily activities sooner.

    b) FUT - Follicular Unit Transplantation method.
    * Also known as the strip method, is a surgical hair restoration technique where a strip of skin containing hair follicles is removed from the donor area (usually the back of the head) and transplanted to bald or thinning areas.
    * Tiny incisions are made at the recipient area (where hair is thinning or balding) to prepare for graft implantation.
    * The dissected follicular units are carefully placed into the prepared recipient sites.
    * The donor site where the strip was removed is closed with sutures.
    * FUT can transplant a large number of grafts in a single session, making it suitable for extensive hair loss.
    * The procedure can be completed relatively faster compared to FUE, particularly for large transplant areas.

2) Hair will be put - Implantation (DHI - Direct Hair Implantation method)
* In extraction, we will be taking alternate hair. So that after 1-1.5 month, you won't be able to make out anything has been done.
* In DHI, the extracted hair are immediately put in the empty areas. So result is very good.
* The hair which are extracted are called GRAFTS scientifically.
* In one graft, 1-4 hair are present.
